QuoteReplyTopic: Natral Part Using Tape Posted: April 09 2008 at 6:47pm
I was over my cousins house two weeks back and she was throwing away some brown paper bags from the store. She looked at the bag and tore a piece off grabbed her Lf and put it against her part. She said this would be the perfect color of my scalp. We just laughed and she got on the computer and was looking for some tape to match that brown paper bag. She bought some Shurtape FP-96 Genral Purpose and Gummed tape. The tape arrived today she cut a strip from both tapes and tested each on her part. She claimed they both matched her scalp. She's about Oprahs color. The shurtape didn't stick as well as the Gummed tape. The gummed tape was easily removed from the lace. She's planning on sticking with the gummed tape. I wanted to know if anyone has ever tried this before? This is where she got it from Findtape.com

yes its been tried b4, but the steri strips has it beat! but if its more cost effective for you then you could do this.. the steri strip tip is in the newbie thread on page one and a pic of me wearing it..
Thanks Sexi I'll tell her about the steri strip if her method doesn't work. I'm using the johnson and johnsons frist aid advanced care. I might look into the steri strips just to see which technique is better.

the brown tape is paper like and its been tried b4 the thing about the steri strips, johnson and johnson tape, and silicon is its a gel texture that looks more like skin and can be altered by makeup to match up the color to match your skin..
Oh, okay. I see...so the lace wont melt into it like it can with something textured like tape, steri strips or something malleable like the silicon sheet.. gotcha! Thanks Sexi. *heading over to CVS*
She's wearing it and the grids did disappear into the lace. The only problem is you can hear the sound of paper being smashed when she pressed down on the hair LOL. If it wasn't for that I would have tried it. Sexi I read True Tape have a new no shine super tape contours can this tape be used for parts? I'm trying to get a tape closer to my scalps complexion without having to dying it.
Sexi... my steri strips were delivered to day and I'm hosting a "Girl's Hair Night Out [GHN]" at my house tonight. We're going to try this and the liquid bandage techniques tonight and compare the two.
In our next GHNO we will be the using the Sally Hansen's spray for the "wig cap look" and the 3M spray for the "chemical-less knot bleaching" technique. I can't wait to try these two. I'm really not looking forward to wearing a wig cap this summer and I'm much too impatient for the normal bleaching technique.
As always, thanks a million!

i don't know about the supertape b/c the appearance of the steri strips looks like skin texture..i pulled the hair apart so you can really see the strips, the hair fluffs back up and covers it very well.. i just put on four on a unit i'm going to apply tonight two on each side of my head until i figure out which side i wanna part this unit on...
no i just put maybe two of them in the area i'm going to part it in and i use two so its wide enough to cover that area and so it can't been seen where the start or end..
