Hair Extensions/blending for men?

 

I hope this question doesn't sound too vain or absurd. 

 

I've had  a number of successful hair transplant procedures.  These procedures are not the old style plugs, or the type where the surgeon removes a strip from the back of the head.  My transplants were removed follicular unit by follicular unit -- a very painstaking and painfully expensive process.  Excellent results.  One problem. 

 

The "donor hair" from which these follicular units are taken is finite.  I don't want to over-harvest the hair in back, and yet I want more density in the middle/front of the scalp.  Robbing Peter to pay Paul is always a bitter process.

 

My question to you super-knowledgable ladies is this: is there a "hair blending" procedure that could add some density to my middle front scalp and perhaps a bit on the crown? I have a good deal of hair, but a windy high noon can be cruel.  I don't want a wig of any kind.

 

I heard about something called "microdot" blending and that sounded interesting, but then I read a very -- well -- *dramatic* thread here on this board which staggered my mind. 

 

Can anyone help me to orient myself here?

You might want to look into the micro point links.  Basically, it's a technique where a few strands of hair (like 3-4 strands) are tied at the base of your hair root, thus making your hair look thicker. 

 

I don't do the technique in my salon, but one of my stylist frieds does offer this service and she says the results are incredible.

Thank you so much for the prompt reply and the link!  The "microdot" procedure sounds almost too good to be true, but I'll certainly check it out.  My main worry would be traction alopecia...
