I have long straight brunette hair past my waist! I have been thinking of going to a short bob cut, a short pixie or possibly a short crewcut. I have never had short hair and I would like to try it, also long hair takes so much care! My boyfriend says he doesn`t care if I wear my hair long or short cause he likes short hair on women too! I am in college at the moment and believe I am old enough to try a short style, but it would be a drastic change. What do you people think I should do? Stay with waist length hair or go with a cute short style!

If you do decide to go shorter, I`d go in stages. That`s a HUGE change to make all at once, and if you`re not happy you`ll have years of growing ahead of you. Take it from someone that has been stuck in the "growing out" loop (which I`m finally past :) ).... it`s hard to grow short hair out because of all the in-between stages.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do. Short hair can look beautiful the same as long hair.

You are right it is a big change!I haven`t decided if I`m going to cut off my hair yet, although if I cut it short I would probably keep it short like many women do. I wouldn`t have to worry about the "growing out" stages if I just kept it very short!

Brian, Thanks for the offer but if I cut my hair off I will probably donate it to charity for children with hairloss, or possibly keep it and make a wig out of it, so I can have my old look as well as my new short look!

Lovely petite Tina,
I love short hairstyles on women as you know, so obviously I would be delighted if you went short, but I know with hair as long as yours and the care you put into it, it is a huge change. There may be a beauty salon near you with a virtual hair machine, where by computer they can show you what you look like in different short hair styles! Call around, and good luck, whether you keep your long hair or cut it off into a short style!
