Hi Im new here and need some advice.

Last week I decided to go blonde from auburn, medium to dark auburn.  So my daughter first applied Loreal color remover. This left my hair very orange. The next day, we waited 24 hours and applied Loreal super blonde, now I was a flaming more neon orange with perfect blonde roots. So we then applied another box of super blonde, I kew that I needed to get to a very light yellow so we left the bleach on much longer than the 60 minutes each time. Still after the 2nd box of super blonde I was still a light orage pinkish color. Thinking that color would even it out some we applied Loreal excellence in ultimate blonde. This did even it out but now it was a bright yellow with orangy undertones. Luckily I had an appointment with my stylist the next day so I did nothing else to it.

Went to my appointment, and my stylist, very good by the way, said he could fix it. He applied another round of bleach to no avail. The red I had been putting in it for years just did not want to lift. Next was some really smelly purple stuff, left on for 10 minutes, no change. So he decided to do my cut and work only with the hair we actually needed to fix. Lastly he applied a toner and this did the trick. No more orange! This was exactly a week ago.

Now it is going yellow again, is not nearly as light as I want it, and my roots are a little ashy. He told me that if it had not lighten up enough by this week to let him know and he could do all over highlights to get it to the color I want, a very light almost platinum blonde.  However, I can't afford to go to him again this week, and want to know what if anything I can do to get it to the very light blonde that I want. He told me not to use shampoos or anything with blue in it because my ends would turn blue because of what he had already used on my hair to take out the ornge.

So what can I do? Would highlighting help? or maybe another toner? I am graduating college next week, and I want my hair to be right by then. Here is a pic but my hair is more yellowy than it looks in the pic, plus in this pic it was not as yellow s it is now. This was taken on Sunday. So what can I do, can't afford another almost 200 dollars this week on my hair. Thanks!!

So your hair is yellowish towards the ends and the roots are ashish?  I suppose you could try a demi on the parts that are yellowish?  Use something that is the same level/tone as the yellow and make sure it's violet.  Also you could try some purple conditioner.  Hope this helps.  Strand test first.

Thanks for your reply. I think I will try the purple conditioner or shampoo first. I read on here that Matrix So Silver is suppossed to be really good. Anyone else use this?

Also I know this may sound dumb, but since violet is blue/red will the blue in the violet turn my hair blue because he told me not to use shampoo or anything with blue in it? I am a little wary of doing anything to my hair now!

Thanks again

Strand test a small section to see what results.  It's really the only way to know.

Good luck!

I went to Sally's and got the Simply Silver and some other shampoo and conditioner. The sales person thre called my stylist and asked him if I could safely use it! So he said to mix it half and half with my shampoo. I did a strand test first , and it came out a very light blond, no yellow, just blond. so my hair is still damp and I can not tell what it will look like but its not blue!

Also read somewhere on here to do this everyday until the color is what I want. Is this okay to do?

So my hair is still yellow, a very shiny yellow.

Do I keep up with the purple shampoo  or can I do something else?  Really need help here, my graduation is next week and need my hair to look better.  Do I need to put a light blond color on? Or do highlights all over?

What do I do? Can't afford my stylist this week

Ir sounds like your hair has been through a lot with color removal and several applications of bleach.

Honestly, I would not recommend anything other than toning shampoo for you at this point until you can afford to see your stylist again.

I would use the purple shampoo. You can use it about every other time you wash your hair.

If it starts getting a purplish tone than use it less. Your hair won't turn permanently purple but it will help tone down the yellow tones.
