Wuddup Wit my Waves??

Alrite heres the problem.  I got scalped about a month and a week ago. My hair was growing at a slow pace. Then after 2 weeks i let my friend give me a taper but it went all wrong. So i had to go to a barber and fix it up. Unfortunately he he trimmed part of my hair while i was training it. so now its been a month and a week and my I have waves all over my crown but a couple of waves on my sides and back but they are all small. what should i do to make my waves grow and how long will it take?

Have patience and let your hair grow. Also brush frequently. The more the better.
