Currently filming "Amelia" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1129445/), the Amelia Earhart story. Who she looks surprisingly like with that 'do.
Though, as the "Boys Don't Cry" grow out emphasized, her strong features really do need longer hair to soften. My guess is that, like the aforementioned movie, she starts growing it again after the film wraps.

I guess that when Hilary got her hair cut and donated it, she might have known she had the role as Amelia Earhart coming up. So I guess it wasn't that much of a humanitarian effort after all.
Hilary may look like Amelia, but she's no Amelia. Ms. Earhart didn't drop out of high school.

Kramer, I understand you don't like her cut because it's short, but really, why the personal digs? Why is donating hair she cut for a film role any less laudable? And why is her education anyone's business, especially on a hair board? I think you'd generate more consensus for your opinions if they were expressed a little more softly.
On the actual cut, I agree that Hilary's prominent lips and jawline really need longer hair to balance them. Still, I don't mind this cut, and I'm intrigued by the film she cut it for!
Your hair is your best accessory; wear it with STYLE!
I got to go with Curly on that one, thats just nasty Kramer!
I have to wonder, a couple years from now when her hair is back around her shoulder blades will your fetish allow you to forget about her lack of education?

Consensus? Who needs consensus? I figure that as long as I comment on someone's hair, anything else is fair game. Would she have cut her hair and gotten the accolades from Oprah and her audience if she wasn't going to cut it anyway for a movie? Maybe. I'm just pointing out some options here. And Hal, once I heard Hilary was a high school dropout, but played an inspirational high school teacher in a movie, it became something I'll forever associate with her. I'm not a big fan of shortcuts in life. And, yes, I know there are many, many high school dropouts in show business.

Not sure she knew she was going to play Amelia Earhart last year when she cut it. Even if she did, however, nothing said she had to promote a charity by cutting her hair. Not that I've talked to Hilary to get her thoughts, but automatically assuming she was disingenuous in her motives and did it for purely self-promotion and to glean underserved adolation is pretty darn unfair.

When Hilary was 15, she and her mom moved to LA with $75 after her parents' marriage dissolved so Hilary could try to pursue acting. Once there, they lived in their Olds Cutlass for a while until they could temporarily stay in a friend's house. Eventually, her mom got a job and Hilary enrolled in South Pasedena HS, later dropping out to pursue her acting as she began to get steady work. And she's publicly stated that it's something she's actually rather ashamed of.
So, lighten up Francis.

I guess she's changed her story. According to the web site http://www.glamorati.com/celebrity/2008/45-celebrity-dropouts/, which lists 45 celebs that dropped out of school and the reasons they did it... Hilary Swank - Dropped out of high school because she “didn’t like the rules.” Her public statement about being ashamed came after she was called out on it, if I recall. If she was that ashamed, what's wrong with going after the old GED? Naturally, I have no idea about the sources glamorati uses, nor do I know yours, JF.
By the way, Flea, I guess this goes against Fatmoogas' theory about you protecting me, your so-called protege. Or is this just a bit of tough love?
