Okay, so as you may know from my previous threads, I've been trying to get my hair one solid blonde color. Because I've gone blonde by years of heavy highlighting, this is proving to be very difficult. Last time I went to my colorist, she applied an all over color, which lightened my roots quite a bit, but I still don't have that one solid color I want. I still have a lot of gold tones while the rest of my hair is about a level 10 natural blonde. I want to completely get rid of the gold tones so that all of my hair is the same color.
Going to my colorist ever month has been getting REALLY expensive, and I have decided that I want to try to achieve the color I want on my own.
How do you guys suggest I achieve one solid color on my own? What brands do you guys suggest?

Without seeing it is very hard to recommend. If you are wanting to try an all over color and get rid of the gold tones, you probably need a blue base high lift color. Go with 12A from Wella (at Sallys). But, it concerns me that you have been bleaching for a while...not sure of the condition of your hair and all of that stuff. Pictures are always helpful!!!

Hey guys. Unfortunately, I am unable to ask my hair dresser to help me out, as she is currently on vacation for the next 2 weeks. But like I said, I'm hoping to do this on my own And another thing is, I do not have access to a Sallys(I live in Canada). Would there be any other place I would be able to get Wella or possibly an alternative?
I took a couple pictures so you guys can get a much better idea of where I'm coming from:

Wow, u got beautiful hair! Have u heard of Artec Color Shampoo? I think u should try a shampoo that cuts the gold out.Like a purple one for blonde hair.Man, I don't wanna see u have to cut all that long hair off if u mess up.It's so long & pretty.I wish I knew what to do.It's very pretty! Keep in mind that u don't wanna have to cut it if u mess it up.Be careful!!

IA..you have beautiful hair. I see what you mean about the gold tones though. You CAN do this, BUT, it will be very hard and there is a lot of risk in doing it yourself. Most hairdressers won't want to undertake this kind of process because it means having to bleach the hair that is not highlighted. They would painstakingly have to pick ALL the pieces that are golden & apply bleach and watch them come up to the lighter pieces. If you want to try this yourself, I would suggest you get some thick heavy conditioner and place it on all your highlighted pieces so they are not damaged/affected by the bleach. Starting from the bottom/nape of your head (all other hair clipped up) pick out the golden pieces, apply bleach (Wella Blondor is excellent and avail on Ebay) with 20 vol. and slap some conditioner on the light piece. You would do this until you reach the top of your head. If you can have someone help you, it would go much faster and be less risky, but if you don't, please get a mirror to be placed behind you so you can see the back of your head!
Now, that I've told you the hard way; I will tell you an easier way to get all one colour light blonde. The next time you do your roots (touch-up), mix up your bleach and 20 vol. (again Wella Blondor or Wella Wellite OR Clairol 7th stage are good) and apply just to your roots. this will begin your process to becoming a double process blonde. Every month, just bleach your roots; and then tone the rest of your hair with purple shampoo/conditioner so there is not so much gold. Gradually you will look all blonde. But, this is not an immediate fix;it will take months to grow out your golden hair.

i would use a silver shampoo.i believe u can pick them up by brands such as pantenne these days.... thats sure to work other wise i would just weave a few sections of the gold tones and put bleach with a low % such as 10% or 20% for just 10 min to get them to lift a shade or 2

A good toning shampoo to use is Schwartzkopf silver shampoo, its purple in colour so don't freak, lol, it wont turn your hair purple honest. I use it on my clients all the time and they even buy it from our salon. You can use it every day to remove any warmth from your hair, its great stuff.
