QuoteReplyTopic: Got my Bohyme order....is it ok?? Posted: June 04 2008 at 10:47pm
My Bohyme order came today. I ordered 2, 4oz. packs of hand tied body wave in 18". I am supposed to be getting flat wefts by Charlene from cybermane, but the ones I recieved look much thinner and smaller than the ones she has pictures of on her website. She was the one who reccomended the Bohyme
has bohyme recently changed the way they manufacture their hand tied wefts? I'm driving all the way to PA from CT and want to make sure before I make the trip!
Bohyme makes both hand tied and machine wefted hair. Bohyme handtied wefts have always been the micro thin weft. I'm sure Charlene can use them anyway. You may want to tell her in advance you bought the handtied.
Actually I prefer using hand tied wefts, since they don't shed much at all. The only catch is that you can't cut the weft or else it will unravel.
So what I do is that I measure the customer's head beforehand for each track. I then take the handtied wefts and sew them together on my sewing maching at home to get the desired width for the customer's tracks.
Most handtied wefts come about 10" wide whereas most customer's tracks need to be 11" or more wide to span across the head. So, when I sew the handtied wefts on my sewing machine I stagger them on a base of hem tape to get the desired width that I need. It's sturdy and flat how I do this.
Anyway, you're in good hands with Charlene, so don't worry.
Cross, I don't think they have changed anything with their handtied wefts. Because they are handtied, they are thinner than machine wefts, but as Metalgirl said, you can easily double or triple them.
Metalgirl, I always cut my handtied wefts, in many little pieces actually! I put a few drop of the Loctite Super Glue on the ends and I have no issue whatsoever
