Hi!

I recently read a post about the Aphogee Treatment for Damage hair. Now, we do have a Sally`s in London - so one of these days, I will go to it! While reading the information about that particular product, I noticed they mentioned `Keratin`. I looked up Keratin on the net, and found out some interesting information regarding this.

Now, I do recall looking at some RedKen products, and seeing one of two having mentioned `Kertain`.

Could someone please tell:

1) How good the following products are - before I go out and buy them
2) Damaging, or not?

Product 1: CAT Protien Reconstruction Treatment
Product 2: RedKen Extreme Treatment

All feedback, would be totally appreciated!

Kc xx

Hi Kaycee...I hope all is well in the lovely UK. About the two products: I haven`t tried either but I can tell you a little about them based upon their respective ingredient lists. CAT Protein Reconstruction Treatment looks OK, but it uses hydrolyzed soy protein as its main protein and it`s not one of the very first additives in the list. Animal protein bonds to hair better than plant derivatives do, and that`s why Aphogee is such a powerhouse treatment. (Not so good if you`re vegan, but that`s another matter.)

Redken Extreme Treatment (Climatress?) is a decent conditioner--strange smell but you get used to it. It`s not a protein-based product at all, though it does have mineral oil, cetearyl alcohol and an assortment of other moisturizers. If your hair is damaged, try Aphogee...it`s good stuff! Take care. :-)

Thanks! :>

Extreme isn`t climatress, I did buy this also. But the Extreme, is also a protien based product, I have used that before.

But thanks. :>

I would like to know where to buy Aphogee online, if possible.

Also, what are Aveda like?

Hi Kaycee,

Some places to buy Aphogee online (I`m not sure if they all ship to the UK):

http://www.cosmeticmall.com/cosmeticmall/frame.asp?BrandID=942

http://www.folica.com/shampoos/aphogee_treatmt.htm

http://www.ebonyline.com/hair-care-by-brand-aphogee.html

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/folica/aptreatforda.html

http://haircarecity.safeshopper.com/20/cat20.htm?151

http://tandsbeautysupplies.com/Alphogheeht.htm

I just typed in "aphogee" in yahoo and I got dozens of results. ONE of those HAS to work! :-)

Some Aveda products are quite good, but they`re overpriced and contain the same stuff you`ll find in cheaper brands at Sally and in the salon.

Thank you, you`re a star! While we`re on the hairproducts.. I recently went into a l`occataine store - sorry, the spelling of it sucks. I know they do mineral based products, including shampoos.. have you heard, or know anything about these products?
