It does look a little darker than the photo, but it may fade lighter with repeated washing. I think it looks nice though. You may be able to lighten it using dish washing liquid or clarifying shampoo, but frankly, if you did that you'd probably just fade it so it didn't look as nice as it does now, it may get duller or remove some of the tone, making it look more orangy or yellowy than you may have wanted. Getting more highlights done is a more surefire way to get it lighter while keeping a nice natural tone.

I think it looks great. I agree with Susan, normal washing your hair will fade your colour a little over time, also the sun too. You could add some more hi lights, but I would leave it a few weeks see how it goes.

I agree with the advice given; washing and normal wear will fade that out (and then you'll probably want to have it darker again!).
To me, dark blonde and light brown are so subjective -- very close, same level. Dark blonde is just more ashy, which tends to look darker because of the ash. Light brown has golden tones, so it looks a bit lighter. If you need it lighter, like right now, just add a few highlights in there.
Love clip-ins and tape!

Thank you all for your help, it's much apreciated.
It's okay at the moment, I can live with it until my next appointment but I was expecting the all over color to be lighter.
A lot of people have said they like it and that it's not as dark as I find it to be.
I'm worried because I feel when it's too dark it washes my skintone out and no matter what toner they use on me the natural red tones in my hair show up and it drives me crazy.
Since that picture was taken I've washed my hair and it as faded a little already.
I'm also worried that when I have more hi-lights put in it will damage my hair as it feels quite dry already.
