stripping and bleaching

Hi  i want to do highlights but whenever i bleach my hair it ends up orange and will not pass that state because I color my hair a medium brown color.  So I went to my beauty supply and bought loreal effasol which is a color remover.  I strand tested and my hair turned orange and brassy.  Can i then bleach and tone to get blonde highlights.  _popupControl();
