I think there is "Remi" and "Remy" and my understanding is that one is a brand name and the "Remy" is an actual description of hair that is cuticle aligned and taken from one donor head. So yes, its very nice hair, of higher quality, will last longer and is more expensive than lower grade hair. However, bottom line, you want to find the hair that is the closest possible match to your own to make blending less of a hassle and to achieve a more convincing look overall.

I've often said that "remy/remi" is one of the most MISUSED terms in the hair industry.. It is supposed to mean cuticle aligned.. But the truth of the matter is that what a vendor means when they use the term really depends on the vendor you are dealing with.. We had a pretty good discussion in the weave section of BHM on this very topic..

Not all vendors mean the same thing when they say remy.. You have to ask them specifically if they mean cuticle aligned and intact hair. For some vendors that is what they mean by remy, but for others remy means something else entirely to them.. So IMO you have to ask to be absolutely sure..

Surely remy means remy.... I have also reconsied it to be cuticle correct.

This means that the hair will keep its condition longer compared to non-remy. Hair extension products must still be used regliously! Hair extension hair must be treated well and very differently to that of your own hair.

I received a sample of Wefted European cuticle remy hair extensions yesterday from www.thehairextensionboutique.com for my cold bond application and the hair is very nice, soft and seems to be of higher quality than the last type of hair I tried.  Has anyone used this type of hair or have any feedback on thehairextension boutique?

That may be very true.. However, that does not mean the term is not being misused by a LOT of vendors and manufacturers.. Like I said what a vendor/manufacturer means when they use the term really depends on the vendor/manufacturer you are dealing with. So I NEVER assume that they are using the correct definition.. I always ASK a vendor exactly what they mean when describing their hair as "remy" or "remi"..

I've seen Remy and I've worked with so-called Remy.....the only non-horse tail forming hair I adore is the old Icy Hair which is now www.pierrediamondtrends.com .  If you skip a day brushing and run a marathon, you still wont have tangles.  Its pricey but better than SoCap and GL thats for sure!  I am veyr happy I found them!

I am sorry, Kathy, but it is very hard to believe you don't work for them considering every one of your posts has been to advertise their website. If i am wrong, then I apologize. It is the typical MO though of so many vendors.

I do not work for them.  I am extremely happy that I got out of the vicious circle of finding the right extensions.  If thats a crime, well I apologize but my long list of clientel is keeping me extremely happy.  THATS my MO.  People ask, I tell.  They basically saved my business...which was slowly slipping away from me!

That’s for sure. If the hair has that silicone coating on it, you will be able to tell right after the first wash. I’m not certain if ALL hair that is not advertised as virgin has that coating. I know I am currently wearing European virgin hair now and it’s lasted over a year and is still relatively tangle free. It wasn’t cheap but if I have not had to purchase new hair in over a year, well it balances out.

You got that right about good extensions not being cheap!  Its so true you get what you pay for.  My friend showed with those $20 extensions and I refused to install them...as guess who would be the one with a crying friend on their doorstep to take them (or rats nest) out? meee!  No thanks! Wink  I stick to the brand I like and know

OMG! You guys are right! Pierre Diamond Trends is so fabulous! It is just unbelievable! THEY are just rockin THE nation!!! So much so that they are causing stylists with various names to join internet hair groups (and not just this one) in just the last couple weeks and post ONLY about Pierre Diamond Trends!

It must be quite a product to make all these stylists join these groups and post almost identical messages in the same writing styles and even put the same words in all caps! For heaven's sake, it is creating such a stir that the stylists are advertising Pierre Diamond Trends in their signature lines and even forgetting to advertise their own businesses!! That is some hair!

Its OK Dana, we know you have nothing better to do but to create a stir on a forum.  I dont know what it is with you and your hatred toward a brand that is doing very well.  Poor poor you...sorry this is your way of life, bashing people no the board ..why?  Maybe its because of jealousy or perhaps not having a life...oh well.  There is help out there..just not on the forums..furthermore I never listen to people who bash behind their monitor....I watch iit happen on groups like this all the time and its just so sad!  You obviously belong to a lot of forums to be making such a stink.  There are other things to do and oh, there are other customers too ya know...just a nice lil tid bit of adivce..now run along chicky

Lastly, WE HAVE ALL NOTICED that the best you can do on a few boards is just bash or have a smart remark.  So far 11 people have PMd back who agree your attitude is trashy.  Makr that 13.  One by one the requests are going in to have you expelled because of your uncalled for vicious attitude.  People dont post because they dont want to deal with your mouth and your comments.  Maybe you should take a hint and take a hike.  Go mouth off to another forum so they can treat you the same way!  Adios!!  Nice knowing ya!
