I had this haircolor before...LOVED it. My stylist who moved did it so well.

what shade is it, and what would it be in garnier drugstore haircolor?

To me it looks like a dark, almost black ash brown, but I suspect this photo might be misleading because there seems to be a whitish cast over it (which might change what the color looks like).  I would flip through magazines and find a true color photo of someone with exactly what you want and bring that in instead of using words.

It is very difficult to pin point the colour as to me it looks like there is red tones, but then might just be the light in your photo. I agree with Susan, a dark ash brown, but not to sure it also has the red tone.

Maybe it is just me, but I see warmth not ash.  I looks like a rich, chocolaty chestnut to me.
