im a mixed guy. Half white, half black. My hair is really starting to annoy me. It is currently about 1 month long. Im trying to grow it like this -->>> http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/events/ASG-004371.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/detail/2008-01-15.html&usg=__dXiv9oRMDgfM-gvTdIBCb8xlesU=&h=600&w=399&sz=24&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=l9Vg75uA5dyIZM:&tbnh=135&tbnw=90&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwill%2Bsmith%2Bson%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN The problem is that my hair is really frizzy and dry whenever i get out of the shower. I use treSemme curl shampoo and conditioner and it doesnt seem to be helping my efforts. I dont know what to do. I wanna be able to grow my hair out that long, but right now it looks like crap, and i dont know if I can make it if its gonna look like this all the time.
It seems that mixed people curls are very picky when it comes to curling gels, etc. Stay away from silicones, and oily products. Use products that will help you define your curls and at the same time restore your hair back to healthy. How you do this? Research online for people with your same hair texture and their solutions. After a year of full research I learned about products that benefit my hair texture (mixed as well). What I did not know is that most products out there in the market have silicones, which covers the hair giving it a shinny look but do not benefit our curls at all, it blocks natural oils from getting into our hair keeping the girls fro regenerating or growing healthy.
I found a wonderful mix of natural ingredients that revived my hair. I will later post what it is. But I want to test it for a while before I pass it on to others. Because it seems that every time I come accross a great new product, a week goes by looking amazing then after that my hair gets in worst shape. But it seems my hair is working great with nautral blends of ingredients without strange chemicals/ingredients. Good Luck!

If you're looking for a more defined curl without the frizz I suggest La Bella Lots of Curls gel... found at Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens for cheap! Large bottle for less than $4 La Bella gel isn't greasy but if you use too much tends to be heavy... a little goes a long way. It doesn't flake either. Continue using your regimen but apply a little gel and see if it helps. It sounds to me like after your wash/cond you need to moisturize your frizzies... also a great product is Carefree Curl Gold -also cheap (you don't have to have a jheri curl to use it!) Use a nickle size daily to stop the frizzies and help moisturize your hair. Your hair is frizzing because it's lacking moisture.
