Hi everyone. Where to start? My hair is naturally about a 5N. I used to work at a Goldwell salon (as support staff). Our stylists used Goldwell Colorance on me. Mainly 6R, sometimes with a little red mix thrown in to kick it up a notch or sometimes with a little 6RB to tone it down.

My hair is once again virgin to all processing. I want to go back to red with Goldwell. However, the Colorance is too much maintenance. So, I want to switch to Topchic. I have a stylist friend who has access to Goldwell, but they don't use it at her salon. So, she isn't much help with Goldwell questions.

My issue is this. I'm in college...medical program...strict rules regarding appearance. So, my hair can't be too bright or "fakey". 3:1 6R:6RB Colorance on my hair (naturally 5N ish with negligible gray) looked great and is acceptable for school. I liked the immediate results (obviously not the faded ones). But, I'm chicken about going permanent. Will the same color ratio with Topchic 20 volume developer give me similar results? Will it be the same color, just permanent? Or will it be a little different because of the different levels of developer used with Topchic? Any input or suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help! And Happy Turkey Day!

Notes:  *Strand test & see how it feels/looks*

If have up to 30 % grey use 10 ml of N /  NN shade & 20 ml of "fashion shade"  30-50% grey 15 ml N 15 ml "fashion"

If hair is resistant or coarse use NN

1:1
same level or lighter 20 VOL
