Hi everyone, I was reading some articles regarding over conditioning with protein treatments. I am usually using the Garnier Masque for hair after I shampoo, but during the holidays I had 2 weeks off, so i decided to use the Loreal Professionnel Series Expert Absolute Repair masque (yellow box) since I had more time to do it. I have been using it for 2 weeks already instead of conditioner every second day. The problem is that in those articles I read, nobody says how much is too much, and also how are we supposed to know which products exactly are the ones we should be careful with?
I would Greatly appreciate if someone with more knowlegde on this subject shares the info. Thanks a lot and I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. From now on i decided to finish the bottle of my Garnier masque and buy the Redken Extreme conditioner for everyday use. I disocvered the Redken Extreme collection yesturday and cannot wait until i buy the treatments as well. The only thing is that I dont know which one to buy: CAT protein, Rescure Force or Deep Fuel. Does anyone know what the differences are between the three of them? The Redken website doesnt say how often these products should be used for best results. For example, they say that the CAT protein treatment should be used after shampoo and if I didnt know, I was going to use it every time after I shampoo, which I now know is not correct. ( reference: http://www.redken.com/products/haircare/extreme/extreme-cat-treatment ) Thanks for the help guys!!!!
Protein treatments should be used about every week and a half, to two weeks, for damaged hair, for healthy hair, about once a month would be good. Other than that, look for just a Moisturizing Treatment..and to figure out what ones to not use frequently, look at the ingredients, basically, if you see the word protein, then you know..or, most that consider themselves to be "Reconstructing", usually have protein of some sort in them.
I don't know the differences between the products you listed, sorry, but I'm sure if you were to call a salon that carried them, a stylist could help you out.
