Hi there!
My hair is rather curly and thick, but it doesn't weigh down so much. I have always prefered it straight with just some loose curls at the ends, but I hardly ever bother because I find it such a wast of time (instead I could be taking a nap.)
I always think that if there's a treatment that could get it just straightened out for six months or so, I would go for it. I heard of japanese hair straightening and also keratine, but do those damage hair? I would not like my hair to be split and on the ground..
What do you think? I don't know anybody who had either of them done.
Also, I heard once that keratine is less damaging, so some people first get the japanese and then the keratine to prevent breakage and such. Does that make sense?
I'd love to hear if you have any suggestions. If I were to do anything, it would be in a salon (i'd cause an explosion in my home otherwise)
Is it possible to curl the ends of the hair a bit after either treatment? Pin straight is not necessarily what I'm looking for.
I have very thick and frizzy hair, and I had it Japanese straightened about two months ago. The results are amazing, it completely transformed my hair. Now it is straight and smooth and shiny every day with no maintenance at all. I don't even have to blow dry it, it will just air dry perfectly straight. It did damage my hair in one section, a 1/2 inch section of hair now looks wirey and fried. The rest of my hair has a little bit of damage, but nothing that a little conditioner can't tame. I would definitely recommend japanese hair straightening to anyone, it has made my life so much easier, and my hair looks great every day with no effort!
"I always think that if there's a treatment that could get it just straightened out for six months or so, I would go for it. Brazilian Keratin Treatment does not damage your hair. BKT repairs your hair. BKT lasts 2.5 months.
What do you think? I don't know anybody who had either of them done.....I've had the Japanese straightening for 7 years, and I've had BKT done twice. BKT is much, much better than Japanese straightening. I will never have Japanese straightening done again. I'll be doing BKT forever.
Also, I heard once that keratine is less damaging, so some people first get the japanese and then the keratine to prevent breakage and such. Does that make sense? .......only if your hair is way too curly/frizzy and you want pin straight hair. Then you would do the Japanese straightening, hair color, and Brazilian Keratin Treatment BKT on top of everything.
Is it possible to curl the ends of the hair a bit after either treatment? Pin straight is not necessarily what I'm looking for..........With Japanese straightening you will never be able to get even the slightest curl in your hair. With BKT, Brazilian Keratin Treatment, your hair will not be pin straight and you will easily get curl in your hair.
