I got a consultation about dying my hair. I've never dyed my hair before. She explained the color scale, and said she would use a high volume something (lifter? toner? I can't remember) and that it would take two sessions, at about $100 each.
This is a local reputable place, I like the people and I've gotten my hair cut there before.

My question:

Is there any way I can do this at home, in part or full?
OR
Should I keep looking for a cheaper price?

My wallet wants me to pay $150 or less.
And with the economy, the cheaper, the better.

Are you wanting to do all over blonde or highlights?

Also, where do you live?  Maybe someone on here can do it for you for a cheaper price.

All over Blonde.

I live in Washington, near Seattle.
I am willing to go anywhere in the county to get it done (our bus system is great, I can go anywhere I want for $0.75)

http://www.haircolorist.com/find/find_colorist.php

Here is a place to check out for ideas of Salons for double process. Do you have a brand in mind? Some inspirational mags Hair & Beauty, Great Hair, Hairstyles only.. I will post more. But these can give an idea of the color you may wish, cool, cream, vanilla etc & even has some USA. I have an affinity for the uk artists &  it has been suggested to offer onself as a virgin hair person to a Exceptional Salon School... Many ideas Will pm more if wish

Stephanie Kocielski has a dvd on double process I think

For instance if you like Wella, Shades EQ, Goldwell or Schwarzkopf you can look to those sites perhaps for Salons in the area to call for consultations etc.

FYI, the person you mentioned sounded like she would do two bleach outs the first one & condition your hair & then the second one & tone it on the next session....? This sounds reasonable as you are a level four.
