I've been looking into and researching 7th Stage for bleaching, but are there any other ones anyone would suggest looking into?

A little background on my hair... It's usually naturally brown, but I colored it brown after having it red for a few years.  It's been brown for months now and I have substantial hair growth and it's in good condition.

It looks like this right now.



I've used bleach before, Clairol Kaleidocolors for chunks and such.  But I want to do a little more extensive bleaching this time around.

All over bleaching minus a small under layer of brown.  I'm pretty sure for toner I'm going with Born Blonde.

I've always heard that you would need to strip the color out of it first since your hair has been previously dyed and then bleach it and then tone but I've also heard that doing a color strip/color corrector is the same as bleaching plus doing both can be really damaging so I don't know but please let me know how it turns out. Also try finding a cosmetologist up at Sally's (I think at least one work at all locations) and they can tell you exactly what you will need. I saw on the Sally's website that the Wella Cream Lightener gets good reviews and has enough in it for two uses.

You're talking about a soap cap or color correcter which is almost the same thing.  I was going to do that this month to get some of the excess dye out.  The brown has washed and faded some.  It's been months since I colored it.  Knowing my hair and the difficulty of getting the orange out I'm sure I'll have to bleach twice and then tone.  I just didn't know if there were any other bleaches people would recommend trying over 7th Stage.

There are many bleaches but it helps to know what you would like to achieve.
What level and tone do you wish to go for?
How do you plan to do it, in foils or bottle & brush or both?

Yellow, not a pale yellow, so I can tone with Blissfully Blonde or Innocent Ivory.  I think those would look good without overdoing it.  Bottle and brush would be it.  Foils all over would be tedious for me with the length of my hair.

So after posting I chickened out.  I went red again, but was awfully unhappy.  I've always wanted to go fully blonde.  So I researched more and wound up going with L'Oreal Quick Blue.  Out of every hair color and brand I've always loved L'Oreal products and read good things about it.  After 3 bleachings (and tons of In-Depth to help with any damage) my hair is pale yellow.  I have yet to tone, but I think I'm going with Wella.  Wella is my second favorite brand.

In-Depth is the best thing you can do after bleaching as it restores the ph balance of the hair. But Wella is discontinuing it!!! Sucks so bad, it is staple in my bathroom and I'm constantly using it when dying family members hair.

I recommend Well Color Touch, it's a pro demi line and the best toners around.

That stuff is gold.  I used it on my moms hair before and after coloring it.  She had a hysterectomy and her hair completely changed.  She couldn't hold color and the texture was just awful.  I used some In-Depth and then colored it for her and it looks amazing.  I loaded it on after every bleach.  I know it's kept my hair from breaking and melting off.  I'm bummed out they're discontinuing it.
