QuoteReplyTopic: Used Feria....Now I have a PROBLEM Posted: June 08 2009 at 8:29am
My hair is medium brown. I just colored my hair with Medium Brown (Havana Brown) by Feria. Thought I would give it a try. I really just color to cover some greys. I want to stay Medium Brown as that is my natural color. Well I used Feria yesterday and now my roots are lighter than the rest of my hair. I would say they are light brown with reddish tint to it. YUK! I heard that Feria is a metallic dye. Now I wish I wouldn't have used it. What can I do? I'm afraid to put anything else in it right now, but I just need my roots back to medium brown. It's not to the point where people will point at me. I can live with it (for now). Any suggestions???
This sounds like a case of hot roots. The roots tend to lighten really quickly than the rest so the ends should be dyed first. The best way to cover those hot roots is to use a semi or demi-permanent color in similar shade. Feria is a permanent color that lifts natural hair up to two shades. That's what happened in your case. I suggest you to only use the semi- or demi-permanent color on your roots, not the rest of your ends for even distribution. Otherwise, see a salon professional if you are uncomfortable doing this yourself. Hope things work out.
