Amla Oil.. is it safe?

Hey I was wondering if any of you people who use oils know anything about Brahmi Amla Oil.  I haven't had breakage in my hair for a long long time, since maybe last summer after I had bleached it and re-dyed it with a darker color.

But last night I used some as it was directed.  Massaging into the root of the shafts of hair......  but the next morning I noticed a bunch of random little peices of hair on my hands and on the shower tile floor.

I read about this on a google search.  "Amla Oil danger".  Some things that came up is that one of the chemicals in the Amla oil product could cause cancer.
How true could it be?  And..... is this oil the reason I had breakage?  I should try an egg+mayo deep condition tonight.  I'm going to a show tomorrow evening and I want to look nice, not like I just walked away from a fight with my nail trim mers!    Thank you for your HELP and your good advice!!!!
