Long hair to short

Hi, I've been thinking about cutting my hair short for some time now but I'm having trouble finding styles that I like and figuring out if they would look good on me. I have a couple of styles I am considering now and would like to know if people here think they'd work for me or not :) . Right now my hair is down to my midback, it's brown and wavy.

What do you think? Would either of these work or should I look for something else? Also, on the second style do you think that'd look good with wavy hair, or would I definitely need to straighten it all the time for it to look good?
