QuoteReplyTopic: Gray hair runs in my family Posted: August 31 2003 at 3:18pm
My mother started growing gray at 25 and by 40 she was fully white-haired and loving it.
My sister have had significant amounts of gray hair ever since she was in her early twenties. She dyed it at first, but became allergic to the die and went completely gray in her early thirties. She miss her black hair sometimes, but get many compliments on her "beautiful white hair" now.
I started going gray at 19 and at first the white streaks in jet black hair were striking. But, at 33 years old, when my hair was more white than black, a woman in her 60's (or older) who was getting her nails done next to me asked me if our sons had gone to school together!! I went the next week back to the salon to have my hair dyed and haven't looked back, since. My husband says he can't even imagine me with gray hair anymore - and - most importantly, when I walk by a mirror or window I don't see an old image looking back at me.
As you can see my mother was the only one to accept that quietly while my sister had to make the best of a bad bargain and im actually the only with coloured hair. Both my sister and i have a daughter: they are too young to have gray hair now but i can suppose that they could have to manage with it in the future given the presuppositions.

I'm in my thirties and have only a few gray hairs not enough to notice. A little grey looks good. Too much grey or hair that is white, to me doesn't always look the best on every woman. If I start getting any significant amount of grey I wouldn't hesitate to die my hair it's natural dark brown color if I didn't like the way it looked.
