Hi,
My name is Jenna. I have thin hair and I was wondering if hair extension would help to thicken my hair and how long do they usually last? I was also wondering if it is ok to use hair dryer on thin hair. I am also allergic to many shampoos and I have itchy scalp due to sensitive scalp. I am having a hard time to find the right shampoo and conditioner to use. I heard that messaging scalp with virgin coconut oil helps but I never tried it. It will take so many wash to get rid of the oil of my hair.

Hi Jenna,
Welcome. Hair extensions might help thicken your hair as long as the proper application method is used. When hair is thin it's important to go to a hair extension expert who will apply the extensions so that where the hair is attached does not show through your hair.
How long do hair extensions last? Hair extensions cover a wide range of variables including type of hair used (human, synthetic, mixed), method of attachment (fusion, tape, weaves, beads or similar) and how much hair is added. There is also the question of proper maintenance which can extend the life of your extensions.
When properly applied by an expert with the most compatible attachment method for your hair and the best hair some hair extensions can last several months.
It all depends on a wide range of factors.
I would like to encourage you to visit the Hair Extension boards here at HairBoutique.com where there is a tremendous amout of information for a wide range of very experienced and talented people who are both pros and DIYers.
That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
