i deep condition my hair but it's getting hard to do with my hair getting longer. i usally wash it in the sink. then put the conditoner with a cap for about a half an hour. putting the cap is the problem. it's hard to get my hair in it. it keeps falling out. any suggestions to keep it in without it getting tangled up? shampooing in the sink, will this make it more tangled? should i leave the conditioner on longer then a half an hour? thank you for any help.

I shampoo and condition my hair in the shower. I suppose it would be less tangling, because the hair is flowing downward due to gravity. I don't use a shower cap, I just leave it in my hair.

Princess Monica

My wife has hair to her knees and she does most of her conditioning in the shower using L'Oreal's Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture - no heat cap is required with it. When she does use a heat cap (about 4 times a year), she rinses in the shower and has very few tangles.

Hope this helps.

hi monica!
have you ever tried twisting your hair up in a bun while you are deep conditioning? i think a big ficcare-type clip would hold wet hair quite well, and then you could still put the cap on over top to hold the heat in. as for washing in the sink, ive never done it, but my hair is fine, waistlength, and gets *really* easily tangled - i have a routine for washing and towelling that i have to follow perfectly or my hair will be a rats nest. i would suggest that you try both ways if you can, (standing up and in the sink) and then decide which way is better for your hair.

i was thinking of twisting it up. this is what i was thinking of doing. it may sould like a pain but i want to get the most benfit. to wash my hair in the shower put the condtioner in the cap twist it THEN get out. wait for the half hour or longer then get back in the shower. i feel in the shower the conditioner gets rinse out a little. plus i go in the sun to heat it.
