Well a friend of mine at work got hers done and she loved them and they looked really great.  I wanted to get them done but they were so expensive that I resisted.  So I decided to shop around until I found a great coupon.  It was one of those get it done today only and save 25% for anyone who had not had it done before.

It was actually being offered by a local nail salon which had me a little nervous but I decided to be brave and do it.

I had what is known as an Individual Lash Extension service and it cost $50 which was with the 25% off.  I am not sure if I paid too much or not but I wanted to do it so I decided to go for it anyway.

I don't think I would recommend the salon to anyone because it was very noisy and the smell of nail chemicals was very strong.  They had a little booth area for me to recline in to have the eyelash extensions done.

They told me the lashes would last 3-4 weeks.  Maybe longer if I was careful with them.

The lady’s name who did mine was Geena. She was very nice

She asked me if I preferred my eyelashes applied tight and close together or more spaced out and natural looking.   I was worried about having the lashes applied too tightly and Geena agreed that the tightly placed laces do look sometimes like drag queens so I went for the more spaced out look.

It took her 30 minutes to apply the lashes and she washed her hands several times before she started.  I was a little paranoid about germs to my eyes.

When she was done, she told me to recline comfortably while she turned a fan on my face to help dry the adhesive on the eyelashes to make sure they were completely dry.

I was surprised that the lashes didn't hurt, feel heavy or itch, which is what I was afraid of.  Geena did a good job of explaining every step so I would not be freaked out.

I had to sit and wait for over 1 hour for the lashes to completely set and I had to keep my eyes closed.  That was a little weird.  Geena told me for future reference that I can get a pedicure or manicure (or both) while I'm waiting for my lashes to completely dry and set.  Geena kept checking on my lashes to see if they were dry.  She was very attentative but again the smell of the nail chemicals was really bothering me.  I did get a little headache.

Have you had eyelash extensions?  What was your experiences?  Please share.
