Hi! My hair is a light red (more light brown underneath) I have been using bleach for years then an ash colour afterwards recently to tone down the yellow. Is there anything I can use to do this in one step? Or anything I can use that is kinder than bleach? With similar effects? I like the light ash and pearl blonde tones. Bleach more often than not just seems to leave it patchy and 'bandy' any help would be most appreciated :)

With bleach you usually do have to tone.

Some bleaches are tinted a blue/violet color to suppress warm tones while bleaching.  Also if you're bleaching to pale yellow, a violet-depositing shampoo might be strong enough to get rid of the yellow, even without toning.

Yes I used use a bleach that was a blue powder, I didn't realise that it actually helped suppress the yellow tones. The one I'm using at the moment is a White wella one. Can you recommend a good blue one? Thanks :)
