Are you growing out from a bob? pixie? What hairdo? How is your hair layered?

When you're growing out, the best thing is to keep that major cutting urge controlled... instead, get regular shaping trims to push you in the right direction. I started with a pixie and had some regular "shaping" trims along the way. Now it's even in the back and the shorter layers are about chest length. By wintertime, I'm going to take a pause to maintain the length for awhile until the layers grow out. Is this what you're trying to do?

it was a pixie style. its been 4 months since my last cut. the very shortest pieces are only about 2 inches long. does that help?

Yup, I had a pixie too. And if you keep trimming maybe 1/4 inch every three months, you should be able to "shape" the do as it grows. Get the longest layers trimmed off every time. Pretty soon, you'll have gotten rid of them all.

If your hair does "flippies" in the wrong places, you might want to consider getting hair clips or other decorative hairtoys to hold them back or hold them in place. I ended up doing that for a long time.. Now it's all paid off!!!

Happy Growing
