QuoteReplyTopic: Short Shag or Layered Bob?? Posted: August 20 2011 at 2:20pm
I'm going to a new stylist this week and am in need of a new style. I have wavy, slightly thick hair.
My hair is grown out from what was supposed to be an angled bob with some graduation in the back - - it didn't turn out that way. It was only a slight angle and the graduation was just at the very bottom of the overall length in the back. It looked awful - - upper layers at the back just sat there and then disappeared as if going off a cliff! Too pouffy too.
I want something modern and stylish. If you have photos or links of styles, that would be cool. I want something that doesn't require me to hold a hairdryer and a brush to style -- I prefer to finger scrunch and just lightly dry with a hairdryer. The last few haircuts, the length at the back is been at the hairline and I'm okay with having it that length again (at least in the back). I was going to ask for a graduated bob but I'm unsure what to ask/explain for the back. But since I haven't yet found the perfect bob (and I've had a bob for 2 years), I'm wondering if a short shag would lend itself more to scrunching and wavy hair. But is that look stylish? I want trendy and head-turning.
If you have the density you describe... likely you need to be of the fence... either grow it out or make a bigger commitment to short and go a bunch shorter... Suggestion: http://purehairstyle.com/wp-content/gallery/short-layered-hairstyle-picture-galleries/short-hair-blunt-bang-layered.jpg
