Hello, I have very very pale porcelain pink/blue toned skin and my current hair color is platinum silver toned blonde. Prior to toning it, yellow literally made my skin look dead, no gentler way to say it. When I toned it silverish, my skin tone automatically lit up, glowed, and even looked tanner. I know my skin tone is very cool toned, but lately I've been wanting to do red. The problem is, I heard only purple, blue, or pink toned reds suit cool skin tones, but these colors do not occur in nature and I desire a natural or borderline natural red color. I've heard there are some natural red heads with cool skin, so I'm wondering if any particular natural shade will be good for my skin? I realize strawberry orange probably won't work for me, but perhaps a deep true red? I really don't want to have to go dark, but I'm open to suggestions. If not, are there any other colors you can recommend? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/88/foto66l.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/525/meinfoto888.jpg/
I think a deep red would look great, but the lighter ones might not go so great with your skin tone. I have the same kind of pale skin, I typically stick to platinum or dark redish browns.
Every skin tone can do red, it's just a matter of picking the right one. If you have pink and blue undertones and yellow/oranges look bad on you, you need a red that is more truly red-red. These colors are frequently called red-violets, because they contain a mix of red + purple rather than red + yellow. Just a word of caution though, even the best ones fade quickly and veer toward pink on lighter hair. Any dye with "auburn" or "brown" in the name will fade to the brown base color, so pick a light one if you don't want to end up brunette between touchups.
