Anyway to fix this?

I dyed my hair a while ago and my hair was orangey but other than that it was soft, managable, looked healthy and all. Then after about a month my hair grew so from the root til about the middle my hair was of my natrual colour. The other 1/2 was alot more dryer and was sort of weighted down and I couldn't style it the way I always did because there wasn't enough lift and it was alot dryer. I went out and bought a dove intense moisture shampoo and a pantene conditioner but it doesn't seem to work. Sould I just wait a month or 2 and then get a haircut which will cut out all of the coloured parts of my hair or is there anything I can do about this?
