How do I get waves like these? A curling iron wouldn't be able to do it because they are not curls. Is there a waving iron or something that exists to get these results? Or do I have to result to a home temporary perm or something that would do this?

Not a curling, but a multi-barreled waving iron...

You might also try braiding your hair, getting it wet and letting it dry.
Make every day you have count, before the time comes for you to count every day you have.

It looks like hair that was braided.

While your head is still damp after washing, try sectioning off your hair, braiding top to bottom in at least a dozen or more individual braids. Secure the ends and then sleep on it. Undo in the morning and allow it to air dry the rest of the way and then lightly fingercomb or just open the braids and shake your head to loosen the waves.

If you're braiding hair that's different lengths, secure each length with a band and continue down the strand. Does that make sense?

The Sarah Brightman look!

Yes braiding will help and is probably simplest.

But rather than that perm give this a try. Shampoo and towel dry. Comb through a themo fixing spray and wind on to bend rods. Start the wind at close to the scalp, flaten the rod for an inch against you head then bend it away and wind on to and down the rod until the end of you hair. Secure with a band. When you finished the head will be covered by rods that are in effect sticking out not laying against you head like a normal roll up.

You'll need reasonably long hair as the weight'll help pull the style down to hel with the effect you want.

Its tricky produces a good result but is difficult to do by yourself. Maybe try it before deciding to perm.

Give it a go
Semi/Temporary curl, wave and colour creator: please try before any perm!
