Faded Dyed Red Hair to Blonde?

Okay my ex and I just split up about a month ago. We were together for 3 years. He didn't like my hair blonde so I always kept it darker. Well I love my hair blonde and I admit I was stupid for letting him keep me from doing it. But now I am ready to take the plunge. My hair is this faded red color. The bottom is this blondish color. I want to go blonde so badly. But I don't know how to take the right approach. I work 6 days a week and I really can't afford to go to a salon (I have 2 kids). I also don't want to go to work with crazy colored hair. They would probably send me home since I work in a real richy richy store. Any ideas or advice? Please and thank you!!!

You might consider finding a cosmetology or barber school in your area. I'm currently in barber college and at my school we will do hair coloring for a lot less($30) than a regular salon and the students are guided by professional instructors.  Be sure to let them know what kind of color (box, brand etc..) that you've used on your hair.  Hope that helps.
