ha. yes it is. And to me its a good thing. I just started taking a multivitamin (well not JUST started. it was a while ago but yeah) and i noticed that now my hair is growing much better. Since I dye it I usually look at the roots for comparison and for a while before I took the vitamins it wouldn't grow. usually my hair used to grow pretty fast but my horrendoes eating habits i guess had an effect on it.

I have the worst eating habits ever. Ive had eating disorders and now I just eat really empty foods like breakfast will be a slice of bread, ill skip lunch and eat like. plain pasta for dinner. I'm just so picky I really dont like ANYTHING. But anyway now I feel more energized and my hair is better. WEeeeeeeeeeeeE. Maybe I should try to get over the pickyness now...

Benji - I used to have eating disorders , but noe I know better! I overcame those diorders in my mid 20's and took on a helathy lifestyle with exercise and good food. Because of this was able to get pregnant, have healthy children and still maintain my buff bod! One of the best things about this is that my hair is so much better than it was then. Thisck, shiny and grows 6 inches a year. (although i can't seem to see it lately) I have measured it's growth also by the root color change.

I really think protein and A,B,C vitamins not o mention minerals are the real secret. Not to mention exercise, which increases circulation to all parts of the body, including the scalp! I eat cereal and fruit for breakfast, or a protein shake. Then lunch is a salad or sandwhich and yogurt. snack is fruit and dinneris always a huge salad with cheese and some kind of bean or peas in it and a little bit of whatever main course I have made for my husband and kids.

SOme nights I will splurge after dinner with****tails, ice cream, or popcorn...depending on the occasion....But anyway, i digress. I have been able to grow some great hair with this variey of food.

take care and happy growing!! How long is it now?

hey jacqui

My hair is a little longer than my shoulder blades and almost to BSL. it'll be there pretty soon.

I had eating disorders when I was 13/14 and I didnt notice my hair falling out/not growing until after I had started eating again and was still sortof... feeling the effects of it.

I'm 15 now by the way. I've been growing my hair (or trying at least) since I was 13, and got it cut to above chin length when I asked for it just above the shoulder. A few months ago I had some trimmed off cause the ends were horrendous from having dyed it 3 different colors (red/purple then blonde then brown) and not cut it in a year and a half.

Oh well. it's getting there.

That is really coincidental! I did the same thing when I was 14!! Except one of the dyes I used was black.....so black that i didn't want to go to school becasue I knew everyone was going to notice. (when i was 14 people didn't dye their hair as much as everyone does now) Anyway. Just start taking REALLY good care of it and spending the money one good shampoos and conditioners instead of dyes.

And especially take good care of yur body...it is a miracle. I wish someone had told this to me when I was 14....I went through a lot of problems with eating diorders and would not wish thast on my worst enemy. Try to get into a sport to help keep you fit and healthy, and love your body for what it IS , not what it is not.

Hi Dana,

Glad to hear you have worked through the eating disorder. As Jacqui says, having a well-balanced and sufficiently nutritous diet will do wonders for you in general... your health (most importantly), your mind, and your hair.

It sounds like your hair is getting to be long! Way to grow...
