I don't know what they look like, my hair is thick and wavy and usually kinda messy so it'll be hard to find them. Anyone have suggestions?

Certain kinds of light make them very visible I have noticed. If you've never seen them, chances is you don't have them. I have pretty thick hair too, but when I have them I always come across them sometime in unflattering lights. If your ends feel noticably worse than the rest of your hair, maybe you could get a slight trim.
