Does anyone here have shiny glossy hair that is fine and wavy. If so please tell me how you did it and what products you use.

Everyone here wants shiny glossy hair Julia!

Here are some suggestions to get you started.

First, clarify with bakingsoda mixed in your shampoo once a month. Your hair won't shine if there's too much product buildup on it.

Second, RINSE, RINSE, RINSE. Shampoo and conditioner can leave a film that dust clings to.

Third, try apple cider vinegar in your last rinse. Take a plastic pitcher ( a cheapie from the dollar store will work fine) fill it up and add a tablespoon of ACV.
Also, make your final rinse as cold as you can stand it. Cold water closes the cuticle of the hair shaft, and when it lays down flat and smooth, it's shinier.

Grenwich,

How much baking soda to use? And for how long? I was just thinking that I needed to buy a clarifying shampoo, but if this will work, that will make me happy.

I will have to get some ACV to try also. Thanks!

Laine - try about a tablespoon of baking soda mixed in with your shampoo - however much you use. Shampoo hair as normal. I wet my hair thoroughly, slap the mixture on, and massage through. Work the suds down the length - then rinse, rinse, rinse and condition.

Julia, I agree that is important to remove residue with either baking soda or a clarifying shampoo. Beyond that, I love a product called Redken Anti-Snap, which gives great shine and body, and which I credit for saving my hair.

I am pretty sure Redken Anti-Snap is the answer to all the world's problems, actually. I even add it to souffles and put it in my gas tank.

Two other great products for shine: Aveda Sap Moss Styling Spray and John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Spotlight. Molecular steam curlers add "thickness" and glossiness, too, and they're gentle on the hair. (Though they're not easy to use if your hair is longer than mid-back.)

By the way, if you have fine hair, it's tough to style for mega volume and have shine at the same time. The first requires you to ruffle up the hair's cortex; the latter requires it to be flat and smooth.

Thanks for the tip, I think I will do that tonight after I bathe my dog!!! I always have to take a shower afterwards, I feel dirty cleaning him..hehe
