Hi All!!This message is intended for Vera, but this is a very interesting subject which I have never heard anyone bring up. Vera was approached at the mall and a stranger offered her money for her long hair and she took it. I am very curious to know how much your long hair is worth. For ladies like Diane and Deana who have obviously spent many years growing and treasuring and caring for their beautiful long hair, how would you put a price on it? I am quite sure that thousands of women cut off their hair and sell it. How else would there be human hair wigs by the thousands for sale. But I would think that this hair is probably from women who need the money for one reason or another. But for a woman with beautiful hair that loves it and has grown it out to a very long length for its pleasure and admiration, how much is it worth???I would love to hear from some of you LONGHAIRS out there. If someone, a stranger, came up to you and asked if you would sell your hair, would you??? For how much??? How can you put a price on something that to many people is PRICELESS!!!!!!!Let me know what YOU think!!!!bbbbowers66@hotmail.com

> I have seen around ten ladies that work at my office, that would never sell their long hair. The ten husbands spent a lot of time taking care of their wives long hair.Husbands consider a wives pretty long hair priceless.I do not know of any lady in my town of 24,000 populationthat would want to sell her real hair. There are many synthetic hair wigs made now, which do NOTuse real human hair,at least my town. if MEN spend a lottime taking care of washing, shamppoing, and trimming a ladieslong or very long hair, they will never want to see thier wives or girlfriend selling their long or very long hair. For most men and for men ladies very long real hair is priceless. There is a glut of new synthetic hair wigsthat have come out on the market.

> My answer will be complicated bbI would never sell my hair in a million after that ask me lolI would give my hair to a very young relative if that child was dying and her wish would be to have my hair for comfort.I would cut my hair shorter if it meant more security for my sons but to just sell it to make money no way. Not interested.

If confronted with such a question, selling my hair for monetary gain, the answer would be simple. "No, not in this lifetime."To answer the second part, " putting a price on something priceless?", requires more thought. Time is a priceless item. We can't save it for later, nor give our share to anyone else. If we use it poorly, and hurt someones feelings, we never fully pay it back. Forgiveness is another priceless item. Full, unconditional, and undeserved forgiveness. Fifteen years growing and caring for my hair, priceless to me, but probably to no one else.Let's imagine priceless items could be exchanged:If this stranger were to offer me a chance to meet my grandma, and get to know her, my hair is his for the asking. If I could go back, and tell mom to tell someone about that the lump she found, cut it off now!If he had the power to erase all the hurt I have caused, he can have the next fifteen years of hair, too! Please forgive me for sounding wierd. I'm just having one of those days today.

Hi Deana,> Fifteen> years growing and caring for my hair, priceless to me,> but probably to no one else. Not true. I understand and appreciate your investment, and I'm sure others do as well!> Let's imagine priceless items could be exchanged:> If this stranger were to offer me a chance to meet my> grandma, and get to know her, my hair is his for the> asking.I'm presuming that your Grandma is no longer with us? I'm sorry about that (you have my sympathies).I say the following in the most gentle of tones -- the real world just doesn't work that way, though...> If I could go back, and tell mom to tell someone about> that the lump she found, cut it off now!... and haircuts just don't assist in the process of tumor detection.> If he had the power to erase all the hurt I have> caused, he can have the next fifteen years of hair,> too!You sound like a very thoughtful lady, Deana. Fortunately, enjoying the hair we have CAN be coincident with doing "right" by others...> Please forgive me for sounding wierd. I'm just having> one of those days today.I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough day. I hope tomorrow's a better one for you!Dave

> My hair has not been cut in 24 years. It has only been trimmed. Unfortunately, my hair will not grow past waist length, which is very frustrating after 24 years. But as I am going to be 40 this month, I don't think in terms of growth any more, but maintainance.I love my hair and would only sell it or try to profit from selling it if it had to be cut any way due to chemotherapy. Then, since I don't have insurance I would perhaps use the people who get a thrill out of seeing long hair cut by making a video and having photos made of my hair being cut. I would sell the videos and photos over the internet to help pay for my treatment. I would seek out my customers by going to their sites and giving them what they want to get what I want. If my treatment were successful, I would nurture and grow my hair back as long as it could be.Otherwise, I cherish my long hair and will always try to find new ways to improve it as time goes by and as long as time permits.

> I was wondering if you ever thought about a hair extensionto add length to your hair. You are a very smart lady tokeep waist length at at age 40. Many ladies can lookexcellent with waist length hair after 40. Would sellinghome videos be able to cover all the cost of chemotherapyfor you? It appears to me,that more ladies are keepingwaist length hair up to age 60.The ladies, who I have seen, that underwent chemotherapy lost all their long hair over several days. In some ladies, chemotherapy does cause total baldness within several days. Most ladies under going chemotherapy treatments thinkabout getting a wig first.I hope that you will always be able to keep your longhair, because many men find waist length hair a real treasure.

>I have never thought about hair extensions because they wouldn't be my hair.I'm not really interested in how long hair looks on me. I am sure that for several reasons my hair would look much better cut shorter. However, I adore long hair on men as well as women. I feel long hair is the most attractive, but I don't impose my opinions on any one and I'm not interested in any one's opinion on whether or not I should cut my hair. I have never told any one how they should wear their hair since I consider that to be a personal decision and a matter of freedom of choice. The desire of my heart has been for 24 years and counting to have long healthy hair. My hair is well taken care of and I am always trying to make it better.I doubt videos or photos would be able to pay for chemotherapy. It would just give me some money to pay towards the bill. My main point in mentioning chemo was that it would have to be a matter of preserving my life by chemo before I would cut my hair. The only other thing that might cause me to cut my hair would be simply notbeing able to have long healthy hair due to the natural process of aging. Then again, before the 1920's most women had long hair whatever their age. These women considered their hair their treasure and simply styled their hair according to their age. I have no problem being the little old lady with the bun at the nape of the neck if that is what pleases me.
