Growing hair long.. ..problems

I am currently growing my hair long, at the moment it is mostly long enough to hang near where the bottom of my nose is.
The problem is that my hair is slightly wavey. When I wash it turns out perfectly straight until it dries completely, and goes all frizzy and uncontrollable/unbrushable. If I put styling products on it it looks greasy and even then it sometimes goes messy.

I`m hoping that these problems are just because my hair is at an awkward length or that i`m not doing the right things for it. I really want to grow my hair long, so any help would be appreciated, thanks.
