is there anything like a gel that will leave my hair looking like i just got out of the shower, but for all day? or at least just not become totally hard and allow it to move a bit.

That is a great question. I would love to find the same product. I have really thick, coarse hair that seems to dry super quickly.

A suggestion may be to try some pomade by American Crew. It may help you to get the "wet look"...I mean, there are certain factors that contribute to that too...some hair texture takes better to it than others!
