I believe, the main reasoning behind young guys not growing their hair long, is the mockery of the mullet hairstyle. I can't see why that particular style is all that bad, as I've sported one from time to time. I mean the mullet alone is mocked so much, that many forget that the short hair guys are what is running this country in the ground (war, taxes, lost jobs) and those lobbyist sure don't have a hold on coolness or confidence about themselves or their agendas, but Mullet wearers do and they have fun showing it.
Ask Mel (sometimes Mullet) Gibson....Which brought you the best picture ever presented on the silver screen..TPOC...
i feel that i will at least be able to do more with it when my hair is simply shoulder length. granted there are not too many styles out there for guys w/ long hair, but there are definitely more out there for shoulder length than there are for guys w/ hair as long as mine.
Well, I always, always wear my waist length hair completely down, but maybe it's different for me since I'm a girl. My hair is very straight and fine, though, so I don't know what to tell you. My friend has wavy hair down to his tailbone and he looks amazing with it. He does a braid sometimes, too. But it's all a matter of what length you feel comfortable with. I'm only here to promote and encourage long hair on males, not to impose it. Personally, I think braids can look just as masculine as they can feminine; it all depends, ya know? Anyway, how would trimming your hair to shoulder length increase your options?

well, im 21 and have been growing my hair long since about my sophomore year in high school... so i guess thats about 7 years now. its about to the middle of my back. the main reason i think that most guys dont grow their hair long is because unlike women, the styles for guys are simply way too limited. this has driven me absolutely nuts! i mean, i occasionally braid my hair, and rarely get it cornrowed back (on special occasions), but other than that, it sits behind me in a ponytail. since i have wavy hair, its even more of a pain to take care of as well. granted, yea i do get loads of compliments on it (which i love) but there really isnt anything else i can do with it. which i why as of lately, ive been thinking of trimming it down a bit, maybe down to shoulder length, so i can at least do something with it. any suggestions?
because most young guys cant handle it and end up looking stupid, im under 20 and this is my 3rd attempt at long hair, where i finally know how to handle it, or at least have the general idea
I've had my hair halfway down my back since I was 20...it's much lower maintenance, just wash and tie, and I love the way it feels when it's clean and dry. =)
Rarely do I see a young guy with long hair. I looooovvvvve long hair on guys, shoulder length or preferably even longer... but most of the guys in my high school have super short clipper cuts; eeeek!
Why is it that younger guys, like under age 25 or so, rarely have long hair? Long hair is handsome!
