QuoteReplyTopic: The wave process (gels and pomades) Posted: July 10 2004 at 3:30am
Ok, I need some stuff cleared up cuz. Ok right now I'm trying to get waves. I got a clean cut hair cut (bold fad) When I first came here they said use 360 pomade. Then everybody said murrrys was better so I am about to switch to that but now everybody saying that pomades are for when you already got your waves? so should I not use it to get waves cause right now I have no waves. Should I use s curl gels and the pink moisterizer to get the waves then when I have my waves start back using pomades?
Then peoplestarted saying something about how du rags are bad for your hair? Damn man can sombody let me know what's really good man, cause I'm all twisted now.
HOLLA AT YA BOY PLEASE!!!

I switched from using pomades to usin the scurl wave gel because its way easier to wash out and it gives your waves a more natural look instead of a greasy****** up look. If your new to the wave game i think u should use the pomade first then switch to the wave gel activator or the other way around. i like stockin caps more then du rags. Use what ever wave pomade u want that everybody on here likes. Holla back 1

I know what ur saying Kanye, but in all honesty wave pomades will get you waves, the only reason I have started to use gels is that I noticed in the second week after getting a haircut my hair use to look really dry because of the lack of nutrition. If you are gonna use pomades make sure you use a moisturiser as well.
yo man what everyone is sayin is all good...u just gotta do whats best for u...if u got the pomades use them cause they get u waves but the key is 2 brush...no matter what u use if u dont brush yo hair u wont get no waves....
Bet you never even felt the heat till i put the M-1 next to ya waves and melt the greaseWhat Im Workin WitDiane brush & Soft Brush both militaryMurrys Super Light Pomade/Nu Nile
the reason why there is so much confusion is because everybody is trying a different method and seeing different results...like is said before, it's about experimenting and finding a method that's good for you so just try something and see how it goes
So am I suppose to use Sportin' Waves and Let's Jam or just one of the two. If I am suppose to use 2 what is the order I should use them in?
I guess it wouldn't hurt to use both.. but I thought the whole point of using gels was to develop yo wave pattern before using the pomades again months later?
So it seem like everyone is using luster's gel and pink moisterizer first, Then after they have their wave pattern, the use pomades. I was using the gel and pink moisterizers until they told me about pomades. When I use pomades even after wetting my hair , my hair feels dry. Like I never put anything in it. So for the record we developing your waves you can start of using gels or pomades?
-One more thing, If you use pomades, should I add lusters pink oil moisterizes to?

I think now most ppl is using gels to get deeper waves. Not sure when I'll go back to pomades, if ever. So yeah.
