I am curious as to how hair length got to be an indicator of gender. If you look back in history, you see hair length on both sexes go up and down. As I look through these message boards, I notice that there is a lot of put downs being issued against someone who wants to explore or wear their hair in the length or style of the opposite sex. My question is, how did we arrive at the status quo? Our hair length and styles weren't always at waht many perceive as "normal". Who says that if you have long hair, you are a woman or if you have short hair, you are a man? Does hair make you either a man or woman? I thinkthe trends we see today is a part of the normal evolution of fashion. It is an indicator that we as a society, are desiring change just like we changed from the hair lengths of the old days. I think the Wahl clipper Manufacturers made it too convenient for society to tell a man, "to get a haircut". Why don't we all relax and enjoy a natural part of our bodies and quite imposing our restrictive standards on others, which by the way was established by the military anyways
I think that girls with really short hair are sexy. Most of us guys hate to admit that they like girls with short hair. I wish to have a girlfriend that will one day let me cut her hair short or have a girlfreind with short hair that she lets me trim. I think it is really sexy when a girl has hair that is so short hse can no longer put it into a boring, out of date ponytail. For all the girls out there: I am a teen-age guy and I love girls with short hair, why do you always have to wear your hair long? Now I am not saying taht a girl has to get really short hair- maybe a crop or a bowlcut, you girls could even get a buzz or shave your head- but long hair is boring!!!!!!!
