well i am a guy. and growing out my hair. kinda like the sk8r look or the ashton kutcherthing. i have kinds dry wavy hair which is about 2-3 1/2 inchesl ong. should i get layers in my hair. if i went to the barbor. should i just tell them i want my layers cut. and if i post a pic. could anyoen tell me what i should do with my hair. i need help on how to get my layers done. and should i get trims such as side burns and so on. i have light brown skin if that makes any diffrence

I know almost nada about cuts. But I can tell you one thing about dry hair: dry hair breaks easier and that prevents growth. Be sure to moisturize and condition well-- possibly even using an oil (I do prewash oiling)-- to prevent that dreaded dryness.

I would bring a picture with you of exactly what you want, because if you just say "layers" you could wind up with anything.

The oil advice given above will help you get your hair to lay flat if it's wavyness becomes more prominent when cut in layers. (I say that only because you mentioned Ashton Kutcher and the last time I saw him was on that 70s show where it was straight). A few drops of jojoba oil may be enough to weigh the hair down without making it look oily.

so my ahir isnt dry i asked a stylist. i want the sk8r surfer look. where it kinda flips up. its wavy then as it gets longer it flips up. or it gets longer and it gets all shaggy. i basically want long shagy hair. kindal ike you would see a surfer have. or a sk8r
