Have you ever put mousse in it. If not , when your hair is wet (not drip wet though) run mousse through it with your fingers all through out your hair then blow dry it. While blow drying it don`t scrunch your hair or anything just run your fingers through it. The mousse will thicken your hair and and allow it to hold better. After your hair is dry spray it with a little bit of hairspray and brush it through and then style it. I do this every day so it`s good to use a good mousse and hair spray because neither of them are good for your hair so Pantene is the best choice of both of them. That`s what I use. I hope this works for you like it does for me.

also, don`t try putting your hair up straight after it`s been washed. It will have no sebum (oily stuff) left because it has just been washed, and the sebum makes hair less slippery. Wait till the next day.
Lisa is right. Paste will really do the trick and it is so much easier to shampoo out than wax or grease. Don`t put the paste too high up near the roots or it can clog the pores of your scalp. However, putting the paste down the length of your hair will help it be less "slick".
Best wishes, Karen
