My hair is thick and just below the shoulders. I have been coloring it for 6 monthes. I havent got the root touched up in 2 months because I want a change but I dont know what. My hair is light to med brown. Although the roots look relly dark right now. The color is hard to explain. Its a warm dark blond-brown. I think it also has kind of a orngy-brassy tinge. Which I hate. When I go get the roots done they turn out blond then the rest of the hair is darker which is dumb. But anyways what are my options? Any suggestions? Can I go lighter withount stripping? Im just totally sick of the color, and the upkeep. What I really want is my med brown with blond highlights again, but thats probly not possible without alot of damage. Thankyou to anyone that has ideas.
Are you getting your hair colored blonde? If you are, get so of your natural color weaved in and it will look like you have blonde highlights and will help with the dark roots you have now. I did it last May and now I just get my highkights redone every 2-3 months.
That is an awsome idea! thanks! So would he just be lowlighting strips? Is that alot less damage to go darker? And the rest of my hair probly wont be light enough so I might have to highlight on top.Does that sound right? Thanks again.
Yes, the hairdresser would put foils of your natural color through out your hair. I`m not sure if it would damage you hair more to make the blond parts blonder. You should ask the salon. Generally it is easier on your hair to go darker than lighter. However, you might need to get the lowlights a few times before the color says. it all depends on how light the blonde part your your hair is now. Go to a salon and see what they think. It`s worth it in the end.
