this summer, i`d really like to dye my hair some weird color (i`m thinking purple, blue, or bright red), but i don`t want to bleach my hair. i`m a medium blonde, with somewhat porous hair, and i was wondering what shades, if any, would show up without stripping my natural color (it has to be gone by sept. -stupid dress code!) also, if anyone has any tips for what dyes to use (manic panic seems to be the best choice, but i`m not sure) and how to go about it, i`d really appreciate the help! thanks!
ya i know how u feel bout the dress code. i just graduated so now i`m going crazy color. well anyway, if you plan on dyeing it back to get rid of it then you can go pretty much any color. my hair is dark brown and blue showed up fine. so i think your medium blonde anything will show up. but if you plan on letting it wash out i say go for a pink or red, something light. but i have to say, keep a color around the house just in case it doesnt wash out in time. k, i used "special effets" for my hair. it worked great. it was very vibrent, and it has lots of diverse colors. manic panic is good but isnt is vibrant and (as far as i know) there are only bacic colors. depending on where u live, find a "hot topic" by your house (you can buy in online at www.hottopic.com . its a punk store and they have lots of great dyes. when u go it dye, wach your hair a day before (dirty hair is best), use latex gloves, and a good cheat is putting vasaline around your hairline and on your ears so you dont have a huge blue streak across your forehead. ok that`s all i can think of, if ya have any questions email me or whatever. wow i wrote a lot...
ok manic panic worked better than special effect for me but the red also didnt wash out of my hair for about a year. pretty much any color would work for your hair...except light pink maybe cuz i did my friend emily`s and it didnt work and she has platinum blonde hair. i have dark brown and red showed up really good. but since u want it to wash out before school use special effects cuz that never stayed in my hair that long.

You have a right to do what you like with your hair so you shouldn`t wash it out just for school. It`s not fair that we`re told our individuality is just a stage we`ll progess too. Society kills people. No wonder there`s so much pain in the world.
But anyway, that`s me.
