Ok - can someone tell me why, with all the thousands of hair products out there, no one has developed something that will coat the ends of hair, seal in the splits and not wear off? (Or will continue to reseal the ends everytime it is applied?)It just seems that with all the conditioners, colors, cellophanes, shine sealers, etc. someone could have come up with a product that will do this.Split ends are my nemesis - and I do everything I'm supposed to to prevent them but I still get them. If there were such a product, I'd be first in line!

Hi Debra,I think it's because hair is a living thing when it is attached to your scalp. Although technically dead, it still grows, it expands and contracts due to changes in moisture and temperature, and it is affected by many things--wherever you go, your hair is with you. The structure of hair is like roof shingles. It is hard to get something to stick to your hair permanently as long as it is still growing, because it is alive. The other answer to your question lies with the producers of the products. If they make something that lasts forever, there would be no repeat business. As for your split ends, they are a fact of life for most women with long hair. I can only encourage you to be diligent in looking at your hair frequently to clip off the split ends, and to treat your hair as gently as possible. Good luck!
