QuoteReplyTopic: Is Aveda Good For Very Long Hair? Posted: January 12 2000 at 2:07am
I've heard a lot about how good Aveda is, but is it suitable for very long hair? My hair is several inches below my waist(it used to be longer, but I just got a trim) and all the different shampoos/conditioners I've been using don't condition my hair properly. I have yet to come across a shampoo/conditioner that is suitable for my hair. I know Aveda is on the pricey side, so before I buy I would like to know if you would recommend it?

Hi Jessica,My hair is knee length, and I use Aveda. I love it. It has been a life saver for my hair. I moved from GA to New England a few years ago, and my hair reacted very badly. It got very dry on the ends and I was quite concerned about having to cut my hair. After hearing so much about the Aveda products I just had to try them. I have found the Shampure and the Color Conditioners to work the best for me. But I am still experimenting with different Aveda combinations. The Curessence is good too, and leaves my hair very silky and soft. I would suggest checking around with some Aveda salons in your area to see if they sell sample sized bottles. The salon I go to does, and I find it a good way to try out the different products without going broke. If not, let me know and I will see if I can get some for you to try out.Take Care, Noreen> I've heard a lot about how good Aveda is,> but is it suitable for very long hair? I've looked in the local phone book (and also have been to the Aveda web site) to find salons that carry Aveda in my area. Out of 500+ salons I came across three that carry it. I've also looked for wholesale stores for it(it's so hard to find anything here in southern Ontario!)but no luck there yet. I've heard about the WW Beauty Store that carries Aveda at a much cheaper price, but there's no store like that here. What is the average price for Shampure and Curessence(in US$)?

Hi Jessica,When I looked at the Aveda website, the closest salon that they had listed to me was about 15 miles from my home. But the mall that is about a half a mile away has 2 salons that sell Aveda products. Maybe they are not Aveda Concept salons, though the salon where I buy my products had an Aveda make up specialist there the other day doing demonstrations. Anyway, even though they aren't listed at the Aveda site, you may have a salon closer to you that sells Aveda products.I pay $23.99 for a 1000ml bottle of Shampure and $22.49 for 250ml of Curessence. I am not sure how average those prices are, but for around here they are the cheapest I have found. The Shampure will last me for months so it is a good bargin. The Curessence will last me about 4 to 5 shampoos so that's not a great bargin. However, my hair feels so great after I use it that I am willing to pay the price.Noreen>> Thank you for your advice. Aveda is great for any length hair.. I will always support the effects of AVeda's products. I used some yesterday after I had gone swimming. Like always, it is wonderful. I hope you can find some Jessica. You could always contact Karen on how she orders online. best of luck.. Hi! My hair is only about bra strap length but I am also always searching for the best products. Lots of people on this site really like Aveda, and they have beautiful hair to show for it. I tried it, but unfortunately don't like it at all. I am using the Shampure right now, but quite honestly I have had much better results with the KMS Nefa shampoo and Silkier reconstructor. I also really love Rusk moisturizing shampoo and Calm conditioner. My hair is very fine and dry and color-treated though, so that might make a difference. I also pretty much demand perfection from a product, which is a tall order to fill! Whatever you decide to try, be sure to only buy it from a place that will take it back if you don't like it. We have a store called Trade Secrets near my house and they have an unconditional money back guarrantee. This stuff is too expensive to just keep if it doesn't do what it advertises. If you find something great, let us know.
