Hi, I am presently wearing a wedge hair cut. My hair is thick, but fine. I would like to be able to just blow dry it & go, but it goes limp & I have no fullness if I did that. What type of hair care products would you recommend & types of brushes that I use for this style. I do have my hair high-lited, but need something that would give me a little more body & my stylist says no to a perm with this type of style. Any sugesstions will be appreciated. Thanks, Karon

Hi Karen,You might want to try ARTec Smoothing shampoo which is great for highlighted hair and then use a conditioner that adds volume or body. I have found that Aveda's Cherry Almond Bark really adds body to my hair. Also to Jeff's hair. Here are some natural body building tips that work for a lot of people (no guarantees on any tips because all hair is different).1. Always use a shampoo that is gentle for your hair type. In this case it is highlighted so the chemicals have altered your hair. BTW with fine hair this actually can be an advantage. For you a shampoo that is designed for color treated or highlighted hair is best.2. Always use a good conditioner that adds body or volume. (Aveda Cherry Almond Bark or ARTec Volume conditioner)3. Do a cold water final rinse. This actually makes the hair "plump" and be fuller. If you want to avoid "plumpness" to your hair use luke warm water as your final rinse. The cool/cold water rinse will also add shine and close the hair cuticle which protects it in a sense.4. Towel dry your hair with a very thick towel and don't rub. Pat or squeeze the hair dry. Carefully.5. Apply a good gel to the roots of your hair. I love the effect of Aveda's Confixer or even the Flax Seed (which is pretty intense).6. Pick out the tangles with a pick or your fingers and then blow dry your hair upside down on a slow, cold setting.Use your fingers to lift sections of hair and aim the hair up the shaft...from the ends to the roots. This will give your hair bulk and thickness. The gel on the roots will give you hair lift and body and make it last without getting limp.Another trick is to let the hair dry about 95% and let the hair air dry the rest of the way. This will add even more plumpness.I am not sure you will like Aveda Confixer the best. You may need to experiment. I also like KMS Gelatto Gel and ARTec Textureline gels. It just depends on what works best for you.The Confixer will give my hair major lift and body. I can't promise that will be best for you. Experimenting works best. :-)Good luck. Let us know what you work out.By the way...perming and highlighting together is a "no-no" so your stylist is right.Have a great weekend.Karen> Hi, I am presently wearing a wedge hair cut. Since you mentioned the Confixor, I thought I'd share my experience with it so far. I was out buying some conditioner the other day (waiting on a shipment from WWBeauty Store, and I ran out), and I saw the Confixor. I figured it might be nice to have around for a few occasions, though I really like Phomollient for everyday. (In particular, I had in mind the photos I'm having taken this afternoon for our church's pictorial directory.)I figured I'd better try it out ahead of time, and I'm glad I did, because it's taken me a few tries to figure out how much to use. I do like the effect, though, now that I've done it a few times. It has a bit more "hold" than the Phomollient, and it leaves my hair with an impressive shine. I'm thinking it might help my hair hold some curl occasionally (something my hair has never liked to do) - I'm planning to try that over the weekend and see what happens.Laura Janelswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu
