How do I keep my hair down?

My hair is very, very straight and fine.I love the way its long, its down to mid-back, and its very, verythick.My problem is, you know how ( I know this is stupid) Barbie's hairsticks out of her head and then hangs down??Like if you keep her hair in a high ponytail too long?That's how mine is, and it also tends to flop in my face if I lean over.All the time, I don't wear it up hardly ever and even when its wet Ihave this problem, I tried braiding it straight down but then whenI take it out, it still sticks out of my head.I look wierd and I hate this, any suggestions?
